Zendesk's mission is to make customer experience better through data and analytics, and the ZAP team builds the fine-grained datasets that power Zendesk's customer-facing analytics and inform internal product decisions. The Senior AI Data Engineer will develop and maintain ELT pipelines, build and optimize SQL-based data models with dbt, and contribute to an AI-enabled operating model by applying emerging AI tools to improve productivity. Basic qualifications include 5+ years of data engineering experience, strong SQL and data modeling (Kimball, Inmon), hands-on dbt, Python, and experience with cloud columnar databases, plus performance/cost optimization and collaboration skills. Preferred qualifications include experience with AI-augmented engineering practices, SnowPro Core certification, Spark, and familiarity with Lean/6 Sigma and CRM analytics.
