At Zendesk, the Fullstack Engineer on the AI Agents Advanced Testing team builds systems and tools for synthetic testing, evaluation frameworks, and quality validation of AI agents, leaning toward backend work while supporting APIs, event-driven systems, testing infrastructure, and data workflows with some user-facing tooling. You’ll collaborate with product managers, designers, data engineers and analysts, and fellow developers to blend rich data, intelligent systems, and responsive UIs to help customers make real-time, AI-powered decisions. Qualifications include 3+ years building modern web apps with TypeScript, React, and Node.js; experience with REST APIs and external services; clean, modular, and tested code with a focus on maintainability; familiarity with design systems and performance, accessibility, and usability; and a product-minded, proactive communicator, plus nice-to-haves like AWS, CI/CD, microservice/event-driven architectures, relational and NoSQL databases, AI agent tools, and Python. Success is measured by delivering well-scoped, high-quality features across the stack, improving reliability and performance through clean code and testing, and by strong cross-disciplinary collaboration, ownership, and growth. The Senior Fullstack Engineer at Zendesk AI Agents will shape both frontend and backend work, collaborating with a cross-functional team including Product Management, AI/ML engineers and scientists, and other developers to deliver fast, reliable features with a strong focus on user experience at scale. You will own building, testing, and iterating to bring high-quality AI products to Zendesk’s massive user base, maintaining and developing the Zendesk AI Agents platform using TypeScript, React, and other modern libraries, and contributing to modularization, scalable architecture, CI/CD, and deployment. You’ll build user-friendly frontend applications for designing conversations and automating workflows, work closely with teammates to ensure new features are stable and intuitive, and continuously learn new tools to improve UX and reduce code complexity. The ideal candidate is a communicative, product-minded engineer with strong TypeScript and React (or similar) skills, a proven testing culture, solid browser/web standards knowledge, performance optimization ability, mentoring inclination, and excellent English communication.
