As an Intermediate Backend Engineer on the next-generation Security Platform Management team, you’ll help build enterprise security solutions from the ground up, including a new Security Manager role system, asset inventory with posture sharing, and unified configuration for GitLab’s security tools, working with a distributed team across the US, Israel, and India.
You’ll design and develop backend capabilities in Ruby on Rails with PostgreSQL, build scalable REST and GraphQL APIs, collaborate with Infrastructure, Policies, and Security Insights teams, and implement unified configuration mechanisms for security tools within focused squads delivering high-impact features.
Requirements include proficiency in Ruby on Rails production services, experience with PostgreSQL schemas and queries for large-scale data, REST/GraphQL APIs integration, Git-based CI/CD, familiarity with Elasticsearch and NoSQL, and a genuine interest in security for enterprise customers, with the ability to work autonomously in a remote, asynchronous environment.
